Fenwick Iribarren has received the commission by the President of the Albanian Football Federation to develop a concept design for the new National Stadium in Tirana. A public presentation was made to the President and the Prime Minister of Albania, the Mayor of Tirana and Mr. Michel Platini, President of the UEFA.

The new stadium sits on the same site as the old stadium, the latter giving way for a more modern stadium full of references of Albania and the colours of their National Flag.

The stadium has a capacity of 30.000 spectators and fulfils all the FIFA and UEFA requirements for large events.  It will also integrate itself into the city fabric, also providing facilitates such as offices and retail areas which will help upgrade the surrounding neighbourhood.
