New Football Stadium for Valencia S.F.

Fenwick Iribarren, in conjunction with Arup Sport, developed the new stadium for Valencia FC. The building was conceived with the intention to become a landmark in the city and ambassador for the community as a whole.

Three elements are superimposed to achieve a single container. These include the stadium bowl with a geometry designed to achieve perfect visibility, the internal skin that creates the overall atmosphere, and the second external skin that establishes the representative character of the building.

The materials of the façade give a weightless feel to the complex as the different shells appear to float within each other and adapt to the rounded form of the building while creating an allegory of the city and its river, the Turia.
