Fenwick Iribarren Architects has been commissioned to develop the New National Football Stadium in Gibraltar. Gibraltar Football Association, a recent addition to the UEFA as their 54th member, requires a Category IV Stadium, which the current Victoria Stadium does not meet.

Fenwick Iribarren Architects has designed a stadium located in a unique spot, at the end of the rock with excellent views. Europa Point Stadium will have an effective use 365 days a year, which will act as an engine for a new meeting point, developing the existing recreational areas.

The building, which despite its size conforms precisely to the conditions of the environment, consists of faceted volumes to give a sense of lightness with large overhangs which overlook the Strait. The cladding materials will be translucent, which intend to convey the effect of a "Live Stadium" belonging to everyone.
