The object of the commission from Aspire to FIA, and the main objective of the team has set is to develop a SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE STADIUM and where the cost is the central issue that needs to be addressed, although this does not mitigate the fact that it needs to be a truly original and amazing stadium for the 2022 WORLD CUP in Qatar.

DESIGN DIRECTIVES

In order to implement an innovative design for the stadium, there is a need to establish a selection of FIVE DESIGN DIRECTIVES to follow and which will give rise to the final solution. These are the main design drivers of the project and should be present in all aspects of the project.

The main driver, or the epicenter of all these directives has to be THE REAL COST OF THE STADIUM

MODULARITY
A system which is repeated is the essential part of achieving a cost effective project, and which allows both a simple construction and legacy modes
LEGACY
A solution which allows the stadium to be dismantled and used for many different uses, smaller stadiums, sports arenas, or even cultural theatres can be made form the parts of the stadium
MOVEABILITY
Easy to move is a vital aspect that needs to be developed. To move parts of the stadium to other countries is a challenge
FUNCTIONALITY
In spite of being a modular and dismountable stadium it still needs to be fully FIFA compliant. The areas and the spaces needs to be as good or better than even the most expensive stadium
ICONIC
Even though this is to be a very economical stadium, it is still part of the Family of the stadiums for the 2022 World Cup, and will be seen by millions. It needs to keep this strong image for the event
