Lusail Stadium was designed to be the headquarters for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. It is also the focus of a large urban expansion in the north of Doha, Lusail.

FIA looked to design a volcano using two concentric circles with large platforms emerging from the ground which will create shade and large walkways with courtyards and gardens.

ABOUT THE PROJECT
The 80,000 spectator stadium are the focal point for this project, using a series of skin facades to create a contrast with the surrounding emerging platforms. The inclined platforms contain hospitality areas, a police station, a school, sporting facilities, training camps, etc…
FIA developed this stadium design at Concept and Master Planning level including World Cup Overlay as part of their invitation to participate in a Limited Competition for the World Cup Final Venue which was finally awarded to Foster And Partners.
